Celebrations continue...

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

Winton Club’s 89th Cabaret Celebration of Life had a very successful week.  The stars were aligned to send a cold weathered week, without any snow, allowing everyone to come and share a new memory, Celebration of Life. The cast delivered a high energy performance each night which brought  tapping, humming, whistling , laughter, and clapping from the audience and filled the town hall theater with wonderful sounds. This was the ultimate wish, bringing a big smile to the novice producer.

It has been an amazing journey which I will treasure as a new personal milestone & celebration.  I invite you all to look at the various photo’s of the performers. Once you see their expressions, you too will understand the level of commitment and enjoyment depicted each night.

My gratitude goes out to Leslie Woodies, Director, Kirsten McKinney, Choreographer, and Steve Bergman, Music Director, as well as, Mike Condon, Mike McTeague, and Mark Smith, who delivered their individual  and theater  expertise in support of the Winton Club Cabaret.

In addition, the Winton Club Cabaret could not occur each year without the support of the Winton Club women , and stage crew members, all who volunteer numerous hours and invest their person time and dedication. Big Hugs to all!

On behalf of the Winton Club, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, patrons, advertisers,& donors for supporting the Winton Club’s Cabaret 2010, and on behalf of Winchester Hospital.

It’s important as a community that we continue to embrace medical programs, research, and technologies which allow us all to enjoy a healthier life, filled with many milestones, and  lot’s of celebrations.

Enjoy the year and all of your own celebrations!

Thanks-

Deb

2009 has been an amazing year, personally for me, planning, learning, and understanding the details of a remarkable program that has been ongoing for the past 88 years. Truly, an amazing group of women and volunteers who share their knowledge and bring their individual styles, all with the same goal to make “Celebration of Life” a wonderful show for the audience to enjoy, and to benefit Winchester Hospital. It’s not too early to be thinking about which performance to attend and who will be joining the celebration.

The remainder of December is for everyone to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends, and make new milestones to remember. I wish everyone  a “happy, healthy, holiday season” and look forward to seeing everyone in 2010.

September 2009

The Winton Club is pleased to announce that Deb Govostes Ciarcia has accepted the role of Producer for Cabaret 2010. A Winchester resident, working mother and current Winton Club Board member, Ms Govostes Ciarcia has also performed in past Winton Club Cabarets. “I am thrilled to lead the team of volunteers that make up our committees, cast and stage crew,” said Deb.

Next year’s Cabaret will mark the 89th year in which the Winton Club has entertained the town of Winchester and its surrounding communities with its annual cabaret to benefit Winchester Hospital. The upcoming cabaret, however, marks a major milestone for the volunteer women’s club: the completion of its five year $500,000 total pledge to Winchester Hospital’s Cancer Center located at 620 Washington Street. “The support and generosity of our Cabaret’s Corporate Sponsors, advertisers, patrons and audiences throughout the past four years has made this accomplishment possible for our Club, “said Peg Otis, President of the Winton Club. All proceeds from the Cabaret and from Winchester Hospital’s Gift Shop run by Winton Club volunteers contributed to this fund raising success.

From the very first time Deb attended the Winton Club Cabaret, she was impressed with the enthusiasm and focus displayed by its members and volunteers. She immediately knew that she wanted to join the Club, so she, too could become involved with the community and Winchester Hospital. “Everyone was having fun performing, and the audience was enjoying the show, and all for a good cause: Winchester Hospital. To see physicians, nursing staff, other Winchester Hospital employees as well as members of the community performing on stage, was just incredible, “said Deb.

Deciding on the show’s theme and title, “Celebration of Life” came easily for Deb for several reasons. A breast cancer survivor who will celebrate her own five year anniversary in 2010, Deb noted, “Once I realized the significance of 2010 – a combination of our Winton Club five year pledge to the Cancer Center and my own five year goal, the theme became clear. Throughout life’s journey, regardless of the stage, with its twists and unexpected turns we need to acknowledge the celebration of life! “said Deb.

The upcoming show will portray in song and dance the various stages of life; birth, youth, adult, and senior as well as the celebrations associated with the milestones in each of these stages. “In our show,” stated Deb, “Winchester Hospital with its medical expertise, programs, and ongoing research will be represented as a ribbon flowing through each stage of life tying each stage to the other, and wrapping itself around all those special milestones and moments everyone experiences. In essence, Winchester Hospital helps each and every one of us celebrate life to its fullest!”

Come and Celebrate with Us at the Cabaret!

(as written in the Winchester Star, September 10th)

The Winton Club gratefully acknowledges the generosity of  our 2010 evening sponsors:
