Once Upon a Time, Long, Long Ago, there was no “TIME”.
No seven day weeks; no hours or minutes; no ticking clocks. Days simply ran from dawn to dusk – and the Seasons changed. Since that Time long ago, we have measured, planned and tried to control TIME. Increasingly, we struggle to meet deadlines and schedules while we count off the days and minutes of our lives, hoping not to miss something important.
The Winton Club is pleased to announce Jean Buckley as the Producer of the 2012 Cabaret show “It’s About TIME” which will be performed January 31, 2011 through February 4, 2012 at Winchester’s Town Hall Maurer Auditorium.
A Winchester resident, Jean has been an active member of the Winton Club for thirteen years. Over that time, she has served on many of the Cabaret committees, including being Chair and Co-Chair for the Scenery and the Costume Committees, as well as Editor of the Program Book. Jean has also been a Buyer for the Winton Club Gift Shop located in the Hospital’s main lobby. The Gift Shop and the Cabaret combine their proceeds for an annual donation to Winchester Hospital. Through the patronage at the Gift Shop and the support and generosity of the Cabaret corporate sponsors, advertisers, patrons & audiences, this year the donation will be dedicated to the Healing Garden at the new Cancer Center, 620 Washington Street.
Honored to be asked to Chair and Produce the 2012 Winton Club Cabaret, Jean has been hard at work on the show since November of last year. The show explores something familiar to all of us: “TIME”. The show’s name, “It’s About TIME”, extends to more enduring concepts of the world we live in, and the people we love. There are lots of expressions, sayings and songs about it. Time Flies, Time is Money, a Stitch in Time Saves Nine, Lunch Time, Hard Times, Good Times, in the Nick of Time, and countless more.
The 2012 Winton Cabaret, It’s About TIME is a chance to pause… even if it’s only for a Cabaret evening. We will take a look at all aspects of Time – thru music and dance. We will slow you down to savor a moment - then wind you up until your feet are tapping and your hands are clapping. We’ll have a Good Time with dear friends and family – and try to remember again, the value of every precious moment we have to spend together.
“Time is free, but it’s priceless.
You can’t own it but you can use it.
You can’t keep it, but you can spend it.
Once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back“.
Harvey MacKay
