The Winton Club Mission

"To exclusively support Winchester Hospital as a dedicated and diverse women's non-profit organization committed to providing various volunteer services and programs for the benefit of the hospital"

Winton Fundraising:

The Winton Club was started in 1911 by 12 women hoping to make a difference in the community through philanthropic activites associated exclusively with Winchester Hospital. 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of The Winton Club.

Since 1921, The Winton Club has sponsored an annual Cabaret during January. Managed completely by volunteer Winton members, and supported by a volunteer cast (which includes area residents and hospital personnel), the Cabaret is enjoyed by audiences from Winchester and the surrounding communities during its five-night run. Patron, Advertising, and Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are available through Cabaret.

Year-round fundraising by The Winton Club is done through the management of the Winton Gift Shop, located in the lobby of Winchester Hospital. Members of The Winton Club serve on the Board for the shop as Buyers, Treasurer, Publicity, and the Gift Shop Chair and Assistant Chair. These women run the shop in all regards, with additional volunteers from the club assisting in the shop as needed.

Winton Donations:

Throughout the years, Winton has donated funds for many important and innovative services and equipment. Through the efforts of Winton Club members, the Winchester Hospital has received approximately $3,125,000. These funds have been used to purchase equipment, benefit women's and children's health care, and provide linens. Some recipients of Winton funds include Digital Mammography, the new Emergency Room, and A Caring Place. In May of 2010, The Winton Club fulfilled a five year, $500,000 commitment to the Cancer Center at 620 Washington Street in Winchester.

Winton Volunteers:

Each year Winton members volunteer over 5000 hours of in-hospital service in addition to many hundreds of hours outside the hospital. Winton members live and work in Winchester and in many nearby communities, and come from all walks of life.  There are young members and seasoned members; new members and service members.  They are unique individuals, but all share an enthusiasm and a commitment to Winchester Hospital and The Winton Club.  This common thread weaves together women of diverse backgrounds and interests, creating friendships that last a lifetime.
